Rep. Shaban Applauds Bond Commission Grant to Weston

Then $256,000 grant will fund infrastructure improvements to the Weston Library.

WESTON – State Representative John Shaban (R-Weston) commended the Legislature’s Bond Commission for approving a $256,000 grant for the Weston Library. Rep. Shaban was among the group working in support of the grant.

The projects to be funded include ADA and other infrastructure improvements to the facility. The grant will cover approximately half of the total estimated cost of the project, with the remaining funds being bequeathed to the library by a late Weston resident.

“I would like to thank the state for helping the library in regards to remediation issues as we prepare to make a full renovation to the building,” said Karen Tatarka, Weston Library Director.

“I am pleased that we were able to secure funds to keep our town library open, fully functional and of continued value to the public,” said Rep. Shaban. “Our libraries are a priceless public resource. In such difficult economic times, I am happy that we were able to secure some return from the state for our district needs.”
