Ridge Crest at Meadow Ridge Receives Prestigious Designation from the CMS
Health center earns national distinction for its commitment to safety and high-quality care

Redding, CT – The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has recognized Ridge Crest for high-quality care and rigorous safety standards in skilled nursing. Ridge Crest is the award-winning health center at Meadow Ridge, a luxury continuing care retirement community in Redding, Connecticut. The CMS distinction is awarded to only about 12% of skilled nursing providers nationwide and it illustrates Ridge Crest’s excellence in care.
The recognition is part of CMS’s new Risk-Based Survey program, launched nationwide this fall. To qualify for the quarterly risk-based assessment, a skilled nursing or long-term care facility must meet stringent criteria including a five-star overall CMS rating, accurate data submission to CMS, evidence of no citations for harm or substandard quality of care during its most recent survey cycle and no recent ownership changes.
“This recognition reflects the dedication of the entire Ridge Crest team to provide high-quality care and ensure that safety is a top priority,” said Paul Brown, associate executive director of Ridge Crest. “I’m proud to work alongside people who bring compassion and expertise to everything they do. Together, we strive to provide exceptional care in a welcoming environment where patients feel supported, comfortable and confident in their recovery.”

Building on recent improvements to its therapy gym and outpatient offices, along with the addition of virtual reality therapy, Ridge Crest is undergoing renovations designed to enhance patient comfort and support care delivery. The project will reimagine resident rooms and communal spaces, including the welcome foyer, dining room, activities space, salon and shower rooms. Softer lighting, soothing colors and an updated neighborhood layout will create a greater sense of comfort and ease throughout the healing process.
To illustrate this distinction, Ridge Crest now displays CMS’s new high-performing trophy icon on Medicare’s Care Compare website at medicare.gov/care-compare.
