Ridge Crest At Meadow Ridge In Redding recently received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

REDDING, CT — A Redding continuing care retirement community recently received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which provides health coverage to more than 100 million people.

Ridge Crest, the skilled nursing and rehabilitation wing at Meadow Ridge, was recognized for excellent staffing, safety, and quality of care.

As part of the Department of Health and Human Services, CMS evaluates a community’s performance based on results from health inspections, staffing levels, and quality measures. Each community receives a star rating for each of these areas, as well as an overall rating, with 1 being the lowest score and 5 being the highest score.

"It's an honor to receive the highest possible rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services," said Christopher Barstein, executive director of Meadow Ridge. "Our associates work tirelessly to ensure Ridge Crest provides a comfortable and safe environment for our patients to recover. This recognition is a compelling testament to that dedication."

In 2022, Ridge Crest was recognized as a Center of Excellence in Wound Management by Wound Care Specialists and was also named one of the best nursing homes in the country by U.S. News & World Report for the fourth year in a row.
