School Theft, Fender Cruncher, Drug Bust: Redding Police Blotter

REDDING, CT — Police in have posted the following incidents in their blotter for the week Jan. 21-28.

  • On Jan. 21, a student at Joel Barlow High School reported to the administration / school resource officer that someone had stolen their ear pods on Jan. 13. from the upper gym area. The items were recovered and turned in at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, according to police.
  • On Jan. 22, police charged Daniel Russell, 30, of Connecticut Avenue in Danbury, with DUI, speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance following a routine motor vehicle stop on Route 107 near Meadow Ridge. Bond was set at $50 and Russell was scheduled to appear before Danbury Superior Court on Jan. 30.
  • On Jan. 23, police say a vehicle was rear-ended while traveling northbound on Route 58 near the Spinning Wheel Inn. Police issued the driver of the second vehicle a warning for following too close.
  • On Jan. 26, Redding Police arrested Thomas Sentementes, 56, of Aunt Patty's Lane in Bethel for violation of a protective order. He was arraigned at Danbury Superior Court and detained on a $50,000 bond at the court holding facility, and scheduled to appear before the court on Jan. 27.
  • On Jan. 28, police report that a motorist lost control of their vehicle rounding a sharp curve while driving eastbound on Limekiln Road and struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The second motorist suffered minor injuries. Police issued the first motorist a warning for failure to drive right on a curve.
