Spring-Summer Portrait Painting workshops series at Mark Twain's Lobster Pot Studio
Award winning artist, Susan Boone Durkee and Mark Twain's Lobster Pot Studio are offering a unique series of portrait painting workshops
Award winning portrait artist, Susan Boone Durkee, is offering a special intimate workshop series, located at her beautiful Studio in West Redding, Connecticut. The Studio is located in a peaceful inspiring environment, surrounded by beautiful gardens, on property once owned by the famous writer and humorist Mark Twain.
Each weekly month long workshop is limited to 5-7 students so all students will have very intense, personal and sensitive teaching.
Instruction and critiques, with caring guidance, will be given throughout the series, covering information on every phase of portraiture. Students will learn how to proceed and what to think about step by step while painting a portrait.

The 3 separate workshops, on Tuesdays in May, July and August, are designed to help students improve their ability to express themselves and guide them to strive to paint with the highest standards of artistic quality. Particular focus will be on composition, drawing accuracy, attention to values, seeing warm and cool colors, and tips on working the edges.

Susan Boone Durkee has been painting commissioned portraiture of over 25 years. Some of her past subjects include: former Supreme Court Justice, John Paul Stevens, Mrs. Ban ki-moon the wife of the U.N. Secretary General and former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige.
