State Awards Weston Police $41K For Dash And Body Cameras
The Weston Police Department has been awarded $41,264 in state funding, in part as reimbursement for the purchase of body cameras.
WESTON, CT — The Weston Police Department has been awarded $41,264 in state funding, in part as reimbursement for the purchase of body cameras, dash cameras, and video storage devices.
"Body cameras have been proven to provide both police and civilians with a valuable resource that benefits public safety, and I am glad that the state could partner with these towns to get this funding approved so they can purchase this equipment," Gov. Ned Lamont, who serves as chairman of the State Bond Commission, said.
The police in nearby Ridgefield ($40,250) and New Canaan ($38,561) are receiving comparable funding.

"Body and dash camera funding helps to make our already safe communities even more secure for both residents and law enforcement," said state Sen. Ceci Maher, who represents the 26th Senate District and parts of Weston in Hartford.
