Stolen Valuables Top The Redding Police Blotter May 28 - June 2

REDDING, CT — A missing or stolen radio and fur coat were atop the Redding police blotter May 28 to June 2.
Police are currently investigating a report, filed June 1, of a missing or stolen Motorola multi-band radio from the Georgetown Fire Department. The radio is valued at approximately $5,800.
Also gone missing or stolen is a sable fur coat, worth around $10,000, from the Meadow Ridge senior living facility at 100 Redding Road. The report was filed by the resident's daughter on May 31. The investigation remains open.

On May 28, police say a mailbox and post were stolen from a residence on Poverty Hollow Road — and replaced with someone else's stolen mailbox and post.
On May 30, a vehicle stopped for a right turn onto Main Street/Route 57 and was rear-ended by another motorist, according to the police report. The second driver was issued a warning for following too close.

No injuries were reported on June 1 after a vehicle crossed the center line of Black Rock Turnpike/Route 58 on a sharp curve into Pinetree Road and crashed along the shoulder of the road. In their report, police say the motorist took his eyes off the road briefly, and was issued a warning for failure to stay in the proper lane.
