Swastika Carved Into Redding Tree

The incident is being investigated after the hateful symbol was found carved into a tree on a popular walking trail.

REDDING, CT — A swastika symbol was found carved into a tree on a popular walking trail in town.

"We will do what we can to identify the person(s) responsible for this act of hate," said First Selectman Julia Pemberton on Facebook Saturday. "Please call 203-938-3400 if you have any information. Thank you to the citizen who reported and photographed the incident."

The swastika was found in Topstone Park, according to the News-Times.
