Teach Compassion

Please consider attending Jesse Lee United Methodists Song- Supper- Service

Most of our children woke up today in a warm and comfortable bed in a house in a safe neighborhood. They got dressed in clean and well fitting clothes that may even reflect current designer or athletic trends. They ate a hopefully nutritious, but surely, filling breakfast and started on their day. That’s as it should be; but not as it always is around our local community or around the world. Our children will probably never have a playdate with a family of six living in a one room apartment in inner city Bridgeport. They won’t have the opportunity to speak with a veteran who is struggling to rebuild his life after serving his country in combat. So how can we help our children understand that there is a whole other world out there of people with many needs?
