Town Of Weston Publishes Coronavirus Update For March 12

Good afternoon. It is Friday, March 12, 2021 and this is First Selectman Christopher Spaulding with a coronavirus update.

As of March 12, 2021 we have had 14 new positive COVID test results, of Weston residents since our last outreach on March 5, 2021. http://wwhd.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Web-update-March-11-2021.pdf

Connecticut is currently allowing people age 55+ to register for a COVID-19 vaccine.

Last week Governor Lamont released a schedule for the vaccine rollout plan moving forward, the schedule is primarily age based and is as follows:

• March 22, 2021: Expands to age group 45 to 54
• April 12, 2021: Expands to age group 35 to 44
• May 3, 2021: Expands to age group 16 to 34

Residents should also report positive cases directly to the Westport/Weston Health Department http://wwhd.org/ so contact tracing can be started immediately in order to contain the spread of the virus. As a reminder COVID testing is available at area hospitals and urgent care facilities as well as at St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Facility in Bridgeport at 700 Main Street. You can call to book an appointment at 833 621 0600. No prescription is required. See here for more details
