Town Of Weston Publishes Coronavirus Update For November 20

Good evening. It is 4:30 pm on Friday, November 20, 2020 and this is First Selectman Christopher Spaulding with a coronavirus update.

As of November 19, 2020 we have had 25 new positive COVID test results for Weston residents since our last outreach on November 13, 2020. click here

This virus has shown us that it only takes one infected person to spread COVID 19 to several others in intimate settings where no masks are worn or social distance is not maintained. Asymptomatic spread of the virus can occur in gatherings of any size. The state has just posted new guidelines HERE which limits gatherings to no more than 10 people.

We urge residents to report positive cases directly to the Westport/Weston Health Department http://wwhd.org/ so contact tracing can be started immediately in order to contain the spread of the virus. The office line is 203 227 9571

Keeping our schools open and operating our town safely is a priority. With that in mind, we continue to ask residents to practice social distancing when out in public, wear masks, and wash/sanitize hands frequently.

We remind you that COVID testing is available at area hospitals and urgent care facilities as well as at St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Facility on Long Lots Road. You can call to book an appointment at 1-860-972-8100. No prescription is required.

Note, if you travel to any of the states or countries on the list (except for less than 24 hours), you must quarantine for 14 days upon your return home or fulfill the testing requirements outlined in Executive Order 9B and complete the travel form found on the state’s coronavirus website found here: https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/travel
