Traffic Mishap Blamed On Bee: Redding Police Arrest Log Aug. 5-12

REDDING, CT — There was plenty of storm-related cleanup, including fallen trees and limbs blocking roadways, on the Redding police blotter for Aug. 5-11, but minimal infractions.

On Aug. 10, police received a report of a vehicle parked in the middle of Sunset Hill Road. Upon their arrival, officers found Fausto Cadmilem-Dutan, 53, of Summit Street in Danbury, asleep at the wheel with the engine still running.

Police charged the motorist with DUI, driving with a suspended license, and improper parking. There were multiple warrants issued from other agencies, including another DUI, for the motorist, according to the police report.

Cadmilem-Dutan was held at Police HQ until he could post his $3,000 bond the next day. He is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 22.

On Aug. 5, a bee stung a motorist travelling northbound on the Route 7/Ethan Allen Highway, causing them to suddenly cross into the southbound lane and into another vehicle, according to police. The motorist was issued a warning for failing to drive on the right side of the road. No injuries were reported, beyond the bee sting.

On Aug. 8, two vehicles passing each other in opposite directions over a narrow section of Sport Hill Road clipped each other's exterior rearview mirrors. There were no injuries.
