Underage Drinking Party Tops Redding Police Blotter April 8-14

REDDING, CT — Complaints about loud music and an underage drinking party topped the Redding Police blotter April 8-14.

The Redding Police Department investigated a report of an underage drinking party on Quarry Rock Road on Saturday. Officers issued a juvenile summons to the youth hosting the party, and notified parents to pick up their children, as no one could drive their vehicles, according to their report.

Also on Saturday, police received a complaint from an Umpawaug Road resident about loud music playing. When police located the source, the homeowner turned it off, according to their report.

Police investigated a hit-and-run on Thursday. A vehicle crossed the center line of Newtown Turnpike/Route 53 and sideswiped another vehicle moving in the opposite direction, before driving off, according to police. No injuries were reported.

On Tuesday, police investigated a deer that was struck and killed along Lonetown Road/Route 107. No humans were hurt. First responders found the dead deer on the shoulder of the road, and contacted the Highway Department to remove it.
