Vaccaro Among "Best of Best" Attending Barron's Summit

Weston's John Vaccaro, CEO of Westport Resources, Attended Elite Gathering of the Nation's Top Independent Financial Advisors

Westport Resources, a leading independent investment firm serving individuals, families, municipalities and institutions around the world, is pleased to announce that its founder and CEO, John Adams Vaccaro, CFP®, CLU®, attended the eighth annual Barron’s Top Independent Advisors Summit, hosted by Barron’s magazine to promote best practices in the industry and the value of advice to the investing public. The invitation-only conference was held at the Fairmont Princess Hotel on March 21 - 23 in Scottsdale, Ariz. Published by Dow Jones & Company, Barron’s is a leading weekly financial newspaper in the U.S.

Fifty of the Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors in the U.S., as ranked and published in the Barron’s August 24, 2015 issue, were in attendance. This annual ranking is the basis for the Top Independent Advisors Summit; the advisors are chosen based on the volume of assets they and their teams oversee and by the quality of their practices. The 2015 list marked Mr. Vaccaro’s seventh consecutive year of being included in the ranking. He was one of only two Connecticut-based advisors on the list.

“America needs wise and proven financial leadership,” Ed Finn, editor and president of Barron’s, said. “This conference brings together the best advisors in the country to share information and ideas toward one goal – to better serve their clients, their families and their communities.”

Vaccaro said: “It was an honor and a responsibility to participate in my seventh straight Summit. As the financial markets and financial planning strategies become more sophisticated to navigate, I relished the opportunity to collaborate with 49 fellow Barron’s ranked advisors. I believe we found the conference an important forum to better equip us and our professional teams to advise our clients in important ways to continue to achieve their financial well-being.”
