West Redding EMT Ronald S. Romano, 75, Passed Away

The West Redding EMT worked at Danbury Hospital where he was a patient care technician.

REDDING, CT — Ronald S. Romano, 75, of Redding, passed away on October 27, 2016. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Case) Romano.Ron was born on September 25, 1941 in the Bronx, NY; son of the late Frank and Mary (Sogliuzzo) Romano.

Ron served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and upon returning to CT graduated from Sacred Heart University with a degree in business. He worked primarily in Systems Information, but finished his full time career at Danbury Hospital where he was a patient care technician.

A resident of Redding for the past 40 years, Ron was an EMT serving with the West Redding Fire Department of which he was a past president. He also volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 15 for many years. Ron loved helping others and being outside. He enjoyed fishing and giving his grandkids rides on his tractor.

Ron is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara and his children; Scott Romano and his wife Suzanne, Matthew Romano and his wife Alison and Erica Dube.
Mr. Romano is also survived by six grandchildren; Paige, Madison, Hailey, Jake, Scott and Brayden as well as a sister, Nancy D’Acunto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church; 169 Black Rock Turnpike, West Redding. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Umpawaug Cemetery, Redding. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Yale-New Haven Hospital Department of Cardiology; Regional Hospice and Homecare of Western Connecticut or Masonicare of Connecticut.

Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield CT., is in charge of the arrangements.
