Weston, Barlow Fall In SWC Girls Basketball Playoffs

The Weston girls basketball team was hammered by Lauralton Hall 69-30 Saturday in the first round of the South-West Conference playoffs in Milford.

Ellie Martin scored 14 points - nearly half of her team's  total - for the Trojans, who will now take an 13-8 record into the state tournament.

Weston has dropped seven of its last nine after losing two starters to season-ending  injuries.

Meanwhile, Barlow also dropped its tournament quarterfinal game, but in much closer fashion, falling at Newtown, 39-37.

Brittney Dumas also had 14 points for the Falcons (15-6).

Unlike Weston, Barlow entered the tournament hot, having won its final five regular-season contests.
