The Joel Barlow softball team remained unbeaten early in the season with an 8-0 victory over SWC rival Weston in a makeup game played in Weston on Thursday afternoon.
Barlow ace Anne Dolan (3-0) scattered five hits over seven innings while striking out seven and walking four.

Kat Fischer (2-2) was the victim of seven Weston errors along with six timely Barlow hits in taking the loss in this important SWC meeting.
Victoria Shea led Barlow's offense with a 2-for-4 performance, which included a double, a run scored and two RBI. Senior co-captain Sonia Giorgio singled, reached on an error and scored twice for the Falcons.

Kaidy Wollman went 2-for-4 for Weston and was the only Trojans player to reach third base in the contest.
The Barlow defense once again shined as the Falcons (4-0) recorded their second double play of the season to shut down a Weston rally in the home half of the fourth inning.
Following a road game with Immaculate on Friday, Barlow and Weston reconnect for a matinee game on Monday at 11 a.m. at Joel Barlow High School.
