Weston-Barlow Scores and Standings: April 26

The Barlow softball rebounded from two consecutive losses with big 5-2 win over a talented Bunnell squad at home on Monday.

Morgan Bonis (3-0) went the distance for Barlow, allowing only two runs while scattering five hits, fanning seven and yielding only one walk.

The Falcons omanaged timely hits, including a big bottom of third inning, when they scored four runs and four hits in jumping out to a 5-1 lead, which proved to be more than enough with Bonis building strength as the game rolled on.

Katherine Acocella continued her hot hitting with a 2-for-3 performance, which included a double and two runs scored.  Co-captain Sonia Giorgio went 1-for-3 with a fielder's choice, run scored and RBI.

Barlow, which improved to 7-2 overall and  4-2 in the SWC), faces a tough Pomperaug team on the road Wednesday in another key SWC matchup as Barlow eyes a return trip to the SWC playoffs after a lengthy absence.
