An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
The finalists were chosen by a media committee from the list of 20 candidates announced in February. The winner of the award will be announced at the Final For Weekend (Memorial Day Weekend) and will be determined 1/3 by fan balloting and 2/3 by NCAA Division I coaches and the national media.

Montelli has played in 59 career games and started 12. He moved to the close defense this year after playing as a longstick midfielder the previous three seasons. A history major, Montelli was selected to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and to the All-ACC Academic squad in each of the past two seasons.
