The boys basketball team opened its season Thursday with a 54-35 loss to Bethel in the Danbury Tip-Off Tournament.
Bethel advanced to Saturday final against Immaculate, which routed Abbott Tech 79-26 in Thursday's first opener. The teams also met in last year's final.

Pat Callahan scored three goals Wednesday as the Barlow boys hockey team posted a season-opening 7-1 win over Norwalk-McMahon.
Tyler Valus, Jack Cartafalsa, Patrick Mimms and Michael Mattson also found the back of the net for the Falcons, who broke it open with four goals in the second period to build a 5-1 cushion
Thierry Jean needed to make just nine saves for Barlow. Norwalk-McMahon also was opening its season.

The Weston High School boys basketball opens its season on Friday when the Trojans host Stamford Academy in a 6 p.m. start.
Mike Hvizdo is starting his first season as Weston's coach, replacing Ryan Errico, who stepped down after four seasons due to job commitments.
Before taking the Weston job, Hvizdo served as an assistant coach at Wilton for two years.
The Trojans are coming off a 6-14 season, but return senior captains Max Molinsky, Lyle Mitchell and Evan Blitzer. Molinsky and Mitchell were all-SWC honorable mention picks last year.
