Juston MacDougall and Michael Mattson scored in the first period Saturday as the Barlow boys hockey team posted a 2-1 victory over Masuk.
Thierry Jean mde 16 saves for Barlow (2-0), blanking the Panthers after giving up a first-period goal to Shane Dushay.
Pat Callahan assisted on both of Barlow's goals while Tim Eng and Patrick Mimms also had helpers for the Falcons.

Phil Moriber scored 18 points and Nolan Stauffer added 14 as the Barlow boys basketball team defeated Abbott Tech 54-49 Saturday in the consolation game of the Danbury Tipoff Tournament.
Stauffer also had four steals and Will Bracken handed out six assists for the Falcons (1-1).
Barlow held a 25-17 lead at the half before Abbott Tech (0-2) pulled within 38-30 entering the final period.

The Weston girls basketball team dropped a 69-38 decision to Bacon Academy on Saturday.
Anna Mahony was the only player in double figures with 10 points for the Trojans, who dropped to 0-2. Bacon Academy improved to 3-0.
Wille Martin grabbed 10 rebounds for Weston, which trailed 21-7 after the first quarter and 35-14 at the half.
