The boys basketball team continued its impressive start under first-year coach Mike Hvizdo with a 57-56 victory over Staples on Tuesday in the Ridgefield holiday tournament.
Max Molinsky scored 25 points and Lyle Mitchell added 10 in the win over the Wreckers.

But now the Trojans, who are 4-0, face their toughest test to date when they take on host Ridgefield in the tournament finals on Thursday at 8 p.m.
Ridgefield has been playing ferocious defense and features one of the top big men in the state in Kurt Steidl, who scored 25 points in Tuesday's 66-32 win over Newtown.

The Tigers, also 4-0, have held each of their first four opponents, to 34 points or less.
Staples and Newtown meet in the consolation game at 6 p.m.

The Hyde Leadership girls basketball team edged Barlow 55-54 Wednesday in the championship game of the North Haven tournament.
Brittany Dumas scored 12 points for Barlow, one of four players in double figures for the Falcons.
Sarah McAniss and Taylor Aver each scored 11 points and Victoria Shea added 10 for Barlow, which fell to to 5-2. Hyde improved to 4-3.
