The Barlow product erupted for four goals in the Whalers' 7-4 victory over the Cape Cod Blue Fins. Seifert snapped a 4-4 tie six minutes into the third period with his fourth goal of the night.

The four goals propelled Seifert to the top of the Whalers' scoring list with 22 points. He now has 12 goals, which ranks second on the team, and 10 assists in 13 games.

Ironically, the four-goal game came one day before the Fairfield native celebated his 31st birthday on Thursday.

Seifert starred at Manhattanville College from 1999-2003 before beginning his professional career which has involved numerous stops along the way. He has played with the Whalers for the past two seasons.

Whalers coach Phil Esposito began serving a 10-game suspension on Wednesday for his part in a bench-clearing brawl against the Blue Fins on Saturday.

Danbury enforcer Corey Fulton, who was ejected five seconds into the game, was hit with a 20-game suspension and little-used rookie James Ryerse was assessed a 10-game ban.
