The boys basketball team suffered its second straight loss Thursday with a 59-49 defeat to New Fairfield

Evan Blitzer scored 20 points and Max Molinksy added 17, but it wasn't enough as the Trojans dropped to 6-3.

The Rebels built a 27-20 halftime lead, then held on by outscoring Weston 32-29 in the second half.

It was only the second win of the season for New Fairfield, which improved to 2-7.

Anthony Cammorota led the way for the Rebels with 30 points, more than half of their team total.

The Weston girls team also suffered a loss to New Fairfield, dropping a 50-45 decision Thursday.

Ellie Martin scored 17 points and Morgan Moubayed added 15 for the Trojans, whose second-half comeback attempt fell short.

After trailing 26-13 at the intermission, the Trojans outscored the Rebels 32-24 in the second half to close within five.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Weston, which slipped to 4-6.

The winning streak of the Barlow boys hockey team came to a crashing halt on Wednesday as the Falcons suffered an 8-1 loss to Newtown.

The Falcons, who were looking to set a school record for best start to a season, dropped to 5-1.

Newtown improved to 5-3.
