The Staples-Weston-Shelton boys hockey team suffered a 7-1 loss Monday to Brookfield-Bethel Danbury at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
Sean Stewart scored the only goal in the third period for the Wreckers, who dropped to 6-5 following their fourth straight loss. They have surrendered 22 goals during the slide.
Trevor Kurjiaka scored three goals and Nick Melvin and Stephan Hallock, Joe Britton Jon Leonard each added one for B-B-D, which improved to 9-5.
Dylan Batterson (19) and Jeff Burns (13) combined to make 32 saves for S-W-S.

The surging Barlow girls basketball team seeks its sixth straight win on Tuesday when the Falcons host New Milford at 7 p.m.
The Falcons improved to 10-5 with Friday's 55-24 victory over Stratford. Brittany Dumas scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Barlow.
New Milford is coming off Friday's 48-40 victory over Weston that improved the Green Wave to 7-8. The Trojans missed a chance to reach .500, dropping to 6-8 after starting 0-4.
On Tuesday (7 p.m.), they host powerful Pomperaug, which improved to 14-1 with Friday's 68-42 win over Kolbe Cathdral.
On the boys side, Barlow visit New Milford and Weston entertains Pomperaug in 7 p.m. starts.
The Falcons dropped to 6-8 following Friday's 68-47 loss to Stratford. New Milford (4-9) is coming of an 78-62 loss to Weston.
The Trojans (7-6) snapped a five-game losing streak with the win over New Milford and can clinch a state tournament berth with a victory over Pomperaug.
Charlie DiPasquale scored 22 points in the triumph over New Miilford while Max Molinsky had 15 points and Erik Dammen-Brower added 12.
