After a loss on a rainy Monday night snapped their unbeaten streak, the Weston Super 8's rebounded in a big way Wednesday, scoring six runs in the first inning en route to a 10-4 victory over Fairfield 10-4 at Bisceglie-Scribner Field.

Daniel Bello highlighted the attack with a long double, and shutout pitching from Myles Lehrman, Nicholas Sacchetta and Dante Esposito preserved the victory. Andrew Castro also starred on the mound in the field and at the plate

The Super 8's are now 7-1 heading into an afternoon match with Norwalk this Saturday at 12:00; again home at Bisceglie.

Longshore's Austin Alianiello won the 42nd annual Jay Borck junior golf title Wednesday at Aspetuck Valley Country Club in Redding.

The medalist in qualifying with a 71, Alianiello, 17, defeated 15-year-old Max Catucci of Weston 4 and 2 in the final. Alianiello, who will be a senior at Staples in the fall, held a commanding 4-up lead after 10 holes before closing out the match on No. 15.

In the semifinals, Alianiello edged Jacob Henny of Oak Hills, 1-up

Catucci, who plays out of the Country Club of Fairfield, bested Tyler Figgis of Mill River 2-up to reach the final.

In the girls final, Faith Garcia of Tashua Knolls defeated Abbey Toski of Tashua Knolls, 6 and 4
