The Weston girls lacrosse team finished over the final 87 seconds of its 12-9 Class S semifinal win over Haddam-Killingworth on Thursday.
The teams had to return to Sheehan to complete game after it was suspended on Wednesday night because of lightning.

H-K actually scored two goals after the game was resumed, but Weston had a 12-7 lead when it was stopped.
The fifth-seeded Trojans (15-6) advanced to Saturday's championship game against No. 7 Granby Memorial. Game time is 3 p.m. at Stratford's Bunnell High School as Weston will be making its first appearance in a state final.

Also on Saturday, the Barlow boys lacrosse team will be playing in a state final for the first time since 2007, when the Falcons lost to Weston 10-8 in the Class S title game.
The Falcons (16-4), who won a Division II title in 2002, will face St. Joseph in Saturday's final at McMahon (10:30 a,m.). The Cadets advanced with a 15-6 win over top seed Somers.
