The Weston girls tennis team defeated Westbrook 5-2 on Thursday to advance to the CIAC Class S finals. The Trojans will take on Stonington on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Yale University courts.

The teams are meeting in the final for the third straight year with Weston winning the two previous encounters, 4-1 in  2009 and 5-2 last year. Here are the results of Thursday's match against Westbrook:

DOUBLES:  Aly Ashmore-Emma Samson (Weston) def. Fatima Cecunjanint-Sarah Chapell, 6-1, 6-1; Caroline Toutoungi-Jessy Gersh (Weston) def. Sabrina Husted-Kathryn Cyr 6-2, 6-2; Danielle Bergman- JennyMurphy (Westbrook) def. Madison Groenings-Dixie Glasser, 6-4, 6-3.

Girls lacrosse

Weston 19, Stonington 2 (Class S, first round)

Darien 22, Barlow 4 (Class M, first round) -- --Olivia Sennett, Clare McLaughlin, Kaitlyn O'Brien and River Kynoch had the goals for the Falcons, who finished the year at 15-5, which included a trip to the SWC finals.
