The Weston boys lacrosse team will scrimmage at Fairfield Ludlowe on Thursday (6 p.m.) and at home on Saturday (1 p.m.). The Trojans begin defense of their Class S state title on April 6, when they host Bunnell at 5 :30 p.m.

-- Five members of the Weston girls basketball team were honored by the school's booster club. The Trojans finished 14-9.

Senior tri-captain Christina Welsh, who led Weston to an 11-1 record before suffering a season-ending injury, was tabbed as the team's Most Valuable Player.

Senior tri-captain Hannah Hutchins earned the Senior Leadership Award and fellow senior tri-captain Dakota Sloop won the first Legacy Award.

Also junior Ellie Martin's was the coach's award winner and sophomore Anna Mahony was chosen as the Trojans' most improved player.

Martin and fellow juniors Lianna Hursh and Maggie Maretz were picked as next year's tri-captains.
