Weston-Barlow Scores and Standings: Nov. 8

The Barlow football team dropped to 3-5 after losing a 43-20 decision to Bunnell on Monday in a game postponed from Saturday.

After Alex Lockwood caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Cooper Brown to pull the Falcons within 8-6 in the first quarter, the Bulldogs (7-1) erupted for 28 points in the second period to take a 36-6 lead at the half.

The Bulldogs extended their advantage to 43-6 on Jack Castelot's 78-yard TD strike to Andrew Calzone in the third before the Falcons scored twice in the fourth period to make the final a bit more respectable.

Jack Shaban scored on a 45-yard TD run and Sam Reed added a 31-yard TD for Barlow, which plays at New Fairfield on Saturday before closing its season against Weston on Thanksgiving.

Bunnell hosts Newtown on Saturday with the winner facing Masuk in the SWC title game.

Newtown 3, Barlow 2, SWC finals (23-25, 25-13, 23-25, 25-22, 15-9) -- The Nighthawks (20-1) retained their SWC title against the Falcons (18-3). Sarah McAniff (10 kills) and Page Demascus (9 kills) led the way for Barlow.
