The Weston football team is holding on to the No. 8 spot in the CIAC Class S state rankings.
The Trojans (6-2), who have won in a row, are tied with five other teams with two losses: Bloomfield (5-2), Coginchaug (5-2), Rocky Hill (5-2) and Haddam-Killingworth (5-2).

Barring a monumental upset this week, Weston is headed to a third loss on Friday against Masuk, the state's second-ranked team.
To get in with three defeats, the Trojans would need those other two-losses teams to suffer a third setback as well. Weston closes with Barlow on Thanksgiving, certainly a winnable game.

Coginchaug -- H-K (5 wins), Morgan (1), Cromwell (7)
Rocky Hill -- Tolland (4 wins), Bristol Central (3), Northwest Catholic (6)
H-K -- Coginchuag (5), Old Saybrook-Westbrook (3), Valley Regional/Old Lyme (7)
All four teams face one opponent with six or seven wins. Either Coginchaug or H-K is guaranteed a third loss since they play each other.
