The Weston and Barlow football teams each posted wins last week, although they traveled different paths to those victories.

Weston forced seven turnovers and upset Brookfield 21-20 on Zach Cannon's 23-yard field goal with six seconds remaining. It was a huge win for the Trojans as the Bobcats were ranked in the top 10.

In Fairfield, backup quarterback Jack Shaban came off the bench to rush for 150 yards and four touchdowns as Barlow defeated Notre Dame of Fairfield 41-14 for its first win of the season.  

Weston, off to a 2-0 start, has another tough assignment on Friday when it heads on the road to face Newtown, which has opened with wins over Barlow and Immaculate.

Barlow stays on the road to take on New Milford (0-2), which could be in an angry mood after last week's 46-13 loss at Bunnell.
