Notre Dame (16-4) has been the hottest team in the SWC and enters the playoffs riding an 11-game winning streak after recovering from two player dismissals during the middle of the season.

In their final regular-season game, the Lancers rallied from a nine-point deficit in the final minute of regulation to defeat Brookfield 67-64 in overtime.

The Staples-Weston-Shelton boys hockey team concludes its regular season on Saturday against Cheshire at 8 p.m.at the Milford Ice Pavilion.

The Wreckers have endured an injured-plagued season, but they won their last two games after getting some of their injured players back.

After starting 6-1, Staples lost its next 10 games, dressing as few as 10 skaters for some of those contests, but the Wreckers snapped the long skid with a 6-0 win over East Catholic on Monday.

Staples (8-11) followed up that victory with a 5-3 win over Greenwich on Wednesday that enabled them to clinch a berth in the Division III state tournament.
