With the league playoff approaching, the girls basketball team goes for its eighth straight victory over Tuesday when the Falcons visit powerful Pomperaug, which is one of the leading contenders to win the FCIAC championship.
Brittany Dumas had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Falcons defeated Bunnell 60-43 on Friday to improve to 12-5. Sarah McAniff paced Barlow with 16 points and Drew Bartro added 11.

Pomperaug defeated Newtown 62-54 to improve to 15-1.
Weston looks to snap a four-game losing streak when it hosts Stratford on Tuesday (7 p.m.) The Trojans dropped to 6-11 following Saturday's 45-35 non-league loss to Haddam-Killingworth and need to win two of their final three games to secure a state tournament berth.

Weston should have an opportunity to get one of those victories against a 3-14 Stratford team that is coming off a 72-28 thumping to Lauralton Hall.
In boys action Tuesday, Weston visits Stratford (7 p.m.) and Barlow hosts Pomperaug (7 p.m.)
The Trojans (8-7) are looking to rebound from Friday's 82-51 defeat to undefeated Kolbe Cathedral while Stratford (8-7) stepped out of conference to defeat Armistad Academy of New Haven 66-51 on Friday.
Barlow has dropped three straight, including Friday's 62-60 defeat to Bunnell, to drop to 6-10 and must split its last four games to make the state tournament.
