Ellie Martin erupted 21 points and 16 rebounds Tuesday as the Weston girls basketball team Stratford 52-35 to move closer to the state tournament.
Lianna Hursh added 18 points for the Trojans, who improved to 7-11.
Anna Mahoney had 13 rebounds for Weston and Taylor Swanson pulled down 10 boards for the Trojans, who need to win one of their remaining two games to secure a postseason berth.
Weston opened a 13-6 lead after the first quarter and extended it 30-15 at the half before Stratford kept it close in the second half.
TeAnna Gordon had 10 points for the Red Devils. who dropped to 3-15.

The Barlow boys basketball team improved its state tournament hopes Tuesday with a 54-37 win over Pomperaug in Redding.
Phil Moriber scored 18 points and Jake Lightman added 13 for the Falcons, who improved to 7-10. They need one win in their final three games to secure a postseason berth.
Barlow was in control for most of the game, building a 12-5 lead after the first quarter and a 26-13 advantage at halftime.
Michael Foley scored 14 points and Lucien Fortier added 11 for the Panthers, who dropped to 3-13.

The Weston boys basketball dropped to .500 following a 49-38 loss to Stratford.
The Trojans, who scored just two points in the first quarter, slipped to 8-8 with four games left in the regular season.
Charlie DiPasquale scored 11 points to lead Weston, which trailed 7-2 after the first period.
The Trojans recovered to outscore the Red Devils 17-11 in the second quarter for a 19-18 lead at the half, but Stratford pulled away by outscoring Weston 31-19 in the second half.
Kinshawn Pettway scored 11 points and Marcus Vereen added 10 for Stratford, which improved to 9-7.
