Weston Couple Targeted In Bitcoin Scam

The scammer threatened to release a "secret" about the husband.

WESTON, CT — A couple was targeted by a relatively new time of scam that demands Bitcoin in exchange for not revealing a "secret," according to police.

A husband was sent a letter that asked for $8,400 in exchange for not revealing a secret to his wife and everyone he knows, according to Aspetuck News.

The letter was received Jan. 26. Similar letters were sent to victims in Darien and New Canaan.
