Weston Firefighters Tackle House Blaze

WESTON, CT — Firefighters extinguished a basement fire in a residence Thursday evening.

The Weston Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report about smoke seen in a residence on Silver Ridge Common. First responders found a working fire in the basement. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and began ventilating smoke from the residence. No one was injured.

The Wilton Fire Department responded with a mutual aid tanker, which was canceled en route. Weston Volunteer EMS stood by for the duration of the incident.

The Weston Fire Marshal is investigating.
