Weston First Responders Mourn Death Of Long-Time Firefighter and EMT
First responders are mourning the death of Weston volunteer firefighter and EMT Mark Blake, who died Sept. 20, at age 61.

WESTON, CT — First responders are mourning the death of Weston volunteer firefighter and EMT Mark Blake, who died Sept. 20, at age 61.
Blake was a dedicated public servant for over 30 years and a life member of both divisions, according to a post on the Weston Volunteer EMS Facebook page. He was also EMS Region 1 president, and vice president on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Regional Communications Center for many years.
During his tenure, Blake served as chairman of the WVFD Explorer Post, chairman of the Benevolent Committee, and the coordinator of Weston's Safe Kids Car Seat Program.

In addition to his work in Weston, Blake was an advanced emergency medical technical and crew chief with Westport EMS.
A wake will be held Sept. 26 from 4-8 p.m. at Harding Lewis Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sept. 27 at St. Matthews Church, 216 Scribner Avenue in Norwalk
