The injury-plagued Weston girls basketball team has saved its season.
Minus two starters, the Trojans clinched a spot in the South-West Conference playoffs Wednesday with a 56-37 victory over Stratford.
Ellie Martin scored 24 points for the Trojans, which won for only the second time since Christina Welsh and Taylor Swanson went down with season-ending injuries against Pomperaug on Jan. 25.

Dakata Sloop and Hannah Hutchins each added 11 points on Wednesday for the Trojans (13-7), who held Stratford to eight points in the first half in building a 22-8 halftime lead.
