Weston Girls Tennis Wins Fifth Straight Class S title
The Trojans cap a 20-1 season with a 6-1 victory over Stonington on Friday

The Weston girls tennis team took the fifth Friday.
Led by top singles player Kimmy Guerin, the Trojans defeated Stonington 6-1 at the Yale University courts to capture their fifth consecutive CIAC Class S state championship.
Friday marked the third straight year that Weston and Stonington have met in the state final.

Guerin, who won the state Open title as freshman last year, defeated Stonington senior Emilie Burgess 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
Weston's Zoe Valella defeated Annika Burgess 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and the Trojans' Catherine Kravchenko bested Courtney Onorato 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.

The Bears' only win came at No. 3 singles as Chloe Slater toppled Morgan Murray, 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles play, Emma Samson-Aly Ashmore handled Lauren Valenti-Abby Volk, 6-1, 6-0; Caroline ToutoungiJessy Gersh dispatched Jennifer Conradi-Emily Buxton 6-0, 6-1; and Madison Groenings-Dixie Glasser bounced Elizabeth Johnstone-Lindsay Michaels 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).
Stonington finished the season at 18-3.
