In December, the Weston Historical Society continues its film and lecture series as part of their Memories of World War II – an Exhibition Celebrating Weston’s Contributions to the War.
“PATTON”
“Patton,” the epic biographical film about the brilliant, yet controversial, U.S. General George Patton, will be shown on December 28th at 7:30p.m. at the Weston Public Library located at 56 Norfield Road in Weston. George C. Scott delivers arguably the best performance of his career - one that won him an Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA Award for Best Actor of 1970. The film won seven Academy Awards and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being ‘culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.”

MEMORIES OF WORLD WAR II
Memories of World War II commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the involvement of the United States in World War II with an emphasis on the stories of the 155 men and women of Weston who served in the Second World War. Over 70 individuals have contributed stories, memorabilia, photographs, armaments and medals for the exhibit. The Weston Historical Society’s Memories of World War II exhibit is open Sundays from 1p.m. to 4p.m. at the Coley Homestead at 104 Weston Road. The exhibit is sponsored by GaraveL Auto Group, Fairfield County Bank, Cohen & Wolf P.C., KMS Partners, Friends of the Weston Library and the Weston Education Foundation. The exhibition and its related programs of films and lectures will run through to April 1, 2017.
