Weston League of Women Voters To Host Municipal Debates On Oct. 15

The municipal debates that the League of Women Voters hosts allow Westonites to meet and hear from local candidates on key issues.

An informed voter is the cornerstone of an effective democracy, and the Weston League of Women Voters is dedicated to keeping Weston voters informed. Importantly, the municipal debates that the League hosts allow Westonites to meet and hear from local candidates on key issues in a moderated, competitive debate format. All responses are timed.

Sunday, October 15 th , 12:30-2:00 pm, Weston Public Library Community Room—Hear from Board of Selectmen candidates Samantha Nestor (D; First Selectwoman) and Stephan Grozinger (R; First Selectman) who will be one-on-one for the first 15 minutes of the debate and then be joined by their running mates Tony Pesco (D) and Kerem Dinlenc (R) for the remaining 45 minutes.

Saturday, October 21 st , 10:00 am-12:00 pm, Weston Public Library Community Room—Police Commission candidates (David Muller and Beth Gralnick for the Democrats; Jess DiPasquale and Frank Ferrara for the Republicans) will engage first. They will be followed by candidates for the Board of Education (David Felton, Peter Gordon, Michael Guido and Brandon Gutman for the Republicans; Sharon Ferraro, Steve Ezzes and Chad Hoeppner for the Democrats).

Attendees are encouraged to come with questions in mind. There will be cards available so that you may easily write and submit your questions which will be reviewed by a bipartisan team for screening to ensure a civil tone and to avoid duplicate questions. Come as a family--all ages are welcome! Coffee and snacks will be available at our information table outside the Community Room. Both events will be taped for future viewing on the League website (lwvwestonct.org).
