Weston PD: Motorist Asleep at Wheel, Suffers Injuries in Crash

Police officers were called to investigate an accident in the area of 117 Steep Hill Road.

WESTON, CT -- A motorist was injured when he drove his car into a utility pole, police reported.

Weston police officers were called to investigate an accident in the area of 117 Steep Hill Road shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, June 24. Once on the scene they reported that the driver, Christopher Jara, 22, of 620 Frenchtown Road in Bridgeport, was outside of his vehicle being treated by Weston Fire & EMS.

According to the police report, Jara told the officers that he was driving his 2000 tan Chevy Malibu north on Steep Hill Road when he fell asleep. When he woke up he saw that his vehicle had drifted right and to the right side of the road, where it had struck a utility pole.
