Coronavirus Weston: Public Schools Have Early Dismissal Tuesday
The schedule change will allow teachers to prepare distance-learning materials in the event of a long-term closure.
WESTON, CT — Weston Public Schools will be dismissing early on Tuesday to provide teachers and administrators the opportunity to prepare materials in the event of a long-term closure.
According to a letter from the Superintendent William S. McKersie's office, "This necessary modification to the schedule will allow each of our schools to identify extended learning opportunities that will be made available to students through online access."
- Weston Middle School and Weston High School will dismiss at 11:45 a.m.
- Hurlbutt Elementary and Weston Intermediate School will dismiss at 12:35 p.m.
The state Department of Education has urged primary and secondary school districts across the state to start thinking about how education can continue if schools need to be shut down due to coronavirus concerns.
