Weston, Redding & Easton Coronavirus Updates: 58 Confirmed Cases

Gov. Ned Lamont said Connecticut had 1,090 more positive coronavirus cases over the past day​ bringing the total number to 4,914.

WESTON/REDDING/EASTON, CT — The state Department of Public Health has confirmed there are several additional cases of the new coronavirus in the area on Friday, bringing the total infected there to six in Easton, 32 in Weston and 20 in Redding.

Gov. Ned Lamont said Connecticut had 1,090 more positive coronavirus cases over the past day bringing the total number to 4,914. An additional 19 deaths were reported bringing the total to 131 deaths and the number of hospitalizations spiked by 82 to 909, the governor said.

The state has tested a total of 20,015 people, an increase of 1,715 in the last 24 hours.

Lamont said the surge of cases is expected in Fairfield County over the next two to three weeks.
