The following is a press release.

The 9th annual Weston Summer Chorus will perform Ein Deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) by Johannes Brahms, this Thursday July 28 at 8 p.m. The concert will be held in the sanctuary of , with a reception to follow in the parish hall.

The Weston Summer Chorus has over 60 singers, and will perform with a chamber orchestra including strings, harp, timpani and piano. Soloists will be Colin Brady, baritone, and Jennifer Barron, soprano, of Weston. Ellen Dickinson, Director of Music at Norfield Church is the conductor and founder of the Weston Summer Chorus.

Each year singers from more than 20 different towns and choruses come together to rehearse and perform a major choral work. Intensive rehearsals are held two nights per week during July, and the concert is held the last Thursday in July. The chorus gives singers a chance to keep their voices in shape over the summer, to sing with new people, and to learn a major work that they might not otherwise have an opportunity to perform.

All are welcome to attend the concert, and admission is $15. For more information, call the church at 203-227-7886 or email music@norfield.org.
