Weston-Westport First Night Committee Gears Up for New Year's Eve Plans

Weston-Westport First Night on New Year's Eve is looking for volunteers, feedback and corporate sponsors.

Weston-Westport First Night on New Year’s Eve is looking for volunteers, feedback and corporate sponsors. See below for details.

From Weston-Westport First Night:

First Night has traditionally ended with a wonderful fireworks display. We are no longer permitted to present a traditional fireworks display because we could damage the new Levitt Pavilion roof. Therefore we are limited to ground effects fireworks which are three times as expensive. This would dramatically limit the length of the show. Since we want First Night to be your night, we are asking for your feedback to help us determine how to best meet this challenge. Please take the short survey to let us know your “Firework” thoughts and go tohttps://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5MRB2JJ

Jim is an accomplished stage hypnotist who has been entertaining crowds since the mid 90’s. Performing up and down the east coast for corporate clients, colleges and casinos, this headlining performer creates a not-to-be-missed show. His combination of music, comedy, hypnosis and audience participation makes this performance the perfect fit for anyone.

Volunteers Needed

It takes months of planning to bring this First Night party to Westport. The Connecticut Chamber of Commerce recognizes us as the place to be on New Year’s Eve. But, we are manned completely by volunteers and are always looking for individuals who would enjoy helping us plan this event. First Night is a community event and everyone who helps out gets the opportunity to work closely with community members, whether it’s merchants, town officials, vendors and the enormous local talent pool. If you are interested in helping us, please drop an email to bpr1946@yahoo.com.

Here is how to contribute

All contributions should be made out to “First Night Westport/Weston” and sent to First Night Westport/Weston, P.O. Box 745, Westport, CT 06881.

You can specify that you would like some or all of your contribution to be earmarked for our Button Giveaway Program, where buttons are purchased for families that cannot afford to attend the event. Last year we were able to purchase 150 buttons.
