WestonArts Open Studio Tour HIGHLIGHT

Oct. 13 several Weston Artist will open studio doors for touring. Meet one of the artist Alison Wachstein

Alison Wachstein

Master photographer, Alison Wachstein has been well known in this region for her exquisitely crafted portraits of families and children. Her keen eye and deft control of flattering lighting and natural posing allow her to create memorable heirloom portraits capturing everyone at their best. She finds that her degree in psychology, her love of children and photography, and her role as a parent have helped her immeasurably in working with children and people of all ages. She is famous for her sensitive portrayal of her subjects and her ability to capture their fleeting expressions and special moments.

Alison was an honored photojournalist and lifestyle photographer in both Aspen, Colorado and New Jersey. She taught photojournalism in the Communications department at Seton Hall University, and photography in the Art department at Fairleigh Dickinson in New Jersey. She has also taught at Fairfield University and the New York School of Interior Design as well as locally. Her photographs are in many private collections as well as the permanent collection at the International Center of Photography in NYC. Her book, Pregnant Moments, published by Morgan & Morgan was highly regarded in both the childbirth and photography communities. She has been the recipient of many state, regional and national awards for her photographs, including the Kodak Gallery Award. She is a certified professional photographer (CPP) and has been awarded her Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman degrees by the Professional Photographers of America. She is a life member of both the PPA and CT Professional Photographers Association. She is also a Certified Master Gardener.
