“I think I’m good at staying calm under pressure in big games,” the senior said.
“He’s our best pitcher,” said Weston Trojan’s baseball head coach Frank Fedeli of the ace — also productive at bat and “a great kid,” overall.
The senior will join NCAA Division III’s Hamilton College Continentals in the fall after yearly stints with the Trojans and AAU’s Team Connecticut – which Lane will play for a final time this summer.
Lane full-filled the Trojan’s closer role pitching in relief. The current 5-2 pitcher also tallied a 1.00 ERA in 28 total innings pitched.
The baseball veteran (playing since kindergarten) has nearly matched last season’s stats with a 1.70 ERA in 49 total innings pitched thus far.
Lane has also played multiple infield positions over the past few years for the Trojans including first, second and third base – while performing well in his primary role of pitching.
Weston has two games remaining on the regular season schedule: They play against at home Wednesday, before traveling to Bethel Friday for their final game before post-season play.
