Wire Fraud, Car Crashes, Top Redding Police Blotter May 6-12

REDDING, CT — Wire fraud and a half-dozen motor vehicle accidents were atop the Redding police blotter May 6-12.

On May 10, a Wood Road resident told police that someone had hacked into their Bluevine Business account and, over time, made nine separate unauthorized transactions totaling $9090. This investigation remains open.

On May 12, officers reported a single-vehicle accident ending in a rollover, with the motorist suffering minor injuries. The driver had "exited the vehicle and was walking around" prior to the arrival of police, according to their report. There were no further details available at the time of this release.

No injuries, but some property damage, were reported on May 7 when a car collided with a utility pole on Main Street on May 7. This investigation remains open.

More property damage, but no injuries, was reported on May 9, following a two-car accident on Redding Road/Route 107. There were no further details available at the time of this release.

Also on May 9, police report a motorist rear-ended a car that was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Route 58 and Church Hill Road. The officer issued an infraction ticket to the motorist for driving without a license, and following too closely.

The next day, a driver took a turn on Church Hill Road poorly and ended up off the road, with minor injuries. An EMS crew was called in to evaluate the driver.

On May 11, property damage but no injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident on Mountain Road. There were no further details available.
